WELCOME TO GRITTY GRACE…

Welcome new Gritty Grace readers as well as old Scraps and Rambles readers!  As you can see, I’ve changed the name of my blog.  I think you’ll enjoy some of the changes I’m making.

Meanwhile, bear with me.  Let me know what you like and what you don’t.  That’s what the comment sections are for.  I’ll try to ask more questions so I can get the feedback I need to make this a place that will be helpful and encouraging to you.

I’m sure you are curious about the name.  I have found that the concept of grace has been increasingly meaningful in the last few years.  Something I have found about grace is that it takes a certain amount of grit (or guts) both to give and receive it.

I used to think it was something sort of sweet and passive.  It isn’t.  It is active.  In order to put it into practice, you need love, faith, courage and the power of the Holy Spirit.  I’ve also learned that receiving grace can be more difficult than giving it.  The less you feel you deserve it, the more difficult it is to receive.

So come join the party!  We all need God’s grace. Jack Miller’s quote is so true: Our sin is even worse than we could think. The good news is that God’s grace is even more vast than we ever dreamed!

One thing is for sure.  Until a person has received the gospel of grace: Christ’s complete payment for personal sin on the cross and the placing of Christ’s perfect record to our account, they can’t give grace to others.

Of course, that was one gift that was totally undeserved, given by Someone who owed us nothing.  We will explore a lifestyle of gritty grace.  Please join me in this adventure.

I like it! You may want to change the subtitle from “just another word press blog”.
